George Zernicke began Zernicke Trucking in 1935 with one truck hauling livestock and grain. His son, Tom, started with a truck of his own in 1975 and worked with George for a year before George retired.
Tom went on to develop expertise in refrigerated hauling for the meat processing industry. Eventually he grew Zernicke Trucking to a fleet of 32 power units and 50 trailers, based out of Abrams, Wisconsin. He built his brand based on honesty, integrity and safety as a commitment to both his customers and his employees.
Part of the Xtreme Trucking Family
On October 30, 2015, Xtreme Trucking LLC and owner Travis Nelson purchased Zernicke Trucking, and Zernicke became part of the Xtreme Trucking family.
Travis founded his business on values very similar to Tom’s, and he has shown through his operations the superior customer service dedicated drivers and staff can provide. Xtreme has a fleet of 21 trucks and 35 flatbed and specialized trailers delivering customer success.
The acquisition allows Xtreme Trucking and Zernicke Trucking to offer a full complement of flatbed, specialized, refrigerated and van transportation. Together, the 52 power units and 80 trailers at Xtreme Trucking and Zernicke Trucking will serve Wisconsin manufacturers, large and small, needing on-time reliable service at affordable rates.
